The annual Bruce Anderson Golf Tournament returned to Schneider’s Riverside Golf Course, just outside Hill Air Force Base, on July 15, bringing together folks from Hill Engineering and the community for a day of friendly competition and remembrance.
Held each year in honor of the late Bruce Anderson, a former member of the Hill Engineering team, the tournament celebrates his legacy and career with one of his favorite pass-times. This year’s event welcomed 14 participants.
One of the tournament’s unique traditions is the unforgettable backdrop provided by nearby Hill Air Force Base. Depending on the training schedule, golfers are often treated to flyovers from F-35s, C-130s, or A-10s. In one especially memorable year, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds were practicing for their annual airshow, giving participants a spectacular front-row seat to precision aerial maneuvers throughout the day.
Congratulations to this year’s champions, Ward Fong and Bryce Jolly, whose outstanding round finished approximately five strokes ahead of everyone else. Their impressive performance earned well-deserved bragging rights until next year’s tournament, when everyone will return to honor Bruce Anderson’s memory once again.
