Last week, we highlighted a legacy post celebrating our first anniversary at (what was our) new location in Rancho Cordova. Today, we’re updating that post for the milestone Tenth Anniversary on Gold Canal Drive!

Originally, we moved into our current location due to an increased demand for office, laboratory, and storage space. For years, our team had been split between two suites within the same office complex. One dedicated to offices, and the other divided into a few offices alongside a laboratory that was becoming increasingly cramped as we expanded our roster of residual stress measurement techniques.
The new office on Gold Canal Drive improved workflow, while upgrading the work environment for all Hill Engineering team members.
But we haven’t spent the last decade resting on our laurels. Since 2016, our laboratory space has further doubled in size, allowing for an increased capacity of residual stress measurements, as well as the space to work with larger test pieces.
We’ve also utilized the increased space to incorporate new measurement methods, including X-ray Diffraction and Deep-Hole Drilling; in addition to virtual part modeling technology, like our 3D scanner.
It’s clear the move was a much-needed upgraded, and the Gold Canal Drive facility has hit the mark in every regard. With ten years under our belt, we’re excited to see what the next decade brings!
