Last summer, I released the second book in my dark fantasy series. Sparrows Sing of Dying, the follow-up to last year’s Design of Darkness, continues the sweeping narrative of The Tides That Reign saga.
The series weaves together a multi-POV cast from disparate realms who must overcome old divisions to rise against a tyrannical king. Rooted in Southeast Asian mythology and shaped by deeply layered worldbuilding, the story delivers forbidden romance, devastating magic, high-stakes warfare, and ominous supernatural forces.
Fans of Brandon Sanderson’s intricate magic systems and John Gwynne’s grounded, battle-forged grit will find much to love within its pages.
Following the second book’s release, I had to make the bold decision to part ways with my publisher and take creative control of the saga’s future. The next installment of the series, Before the Ghost Sea, will launch through Kickstarter in the first quarter of 2026 as I embrace the independent author journey.
