Automated data collection for maintenance processes

Hill Engineering’s Integrated Maintenance System uses next generation technologies to address the quality assurance needs of the aerospace industry. This system automates data collection for critical maintenance processes, such as cold expansion of fastener holes and nondestructive inspections, sewing the quality assurance digital thread. By assigning the data to the actual spatial location of the executed task, the Integrated Maintenance System helps ensure that the correct maintenance is performed at the correct location, with the required quality assurance level, and the digital thread to prove it.

The Integrated Maintenance System was developed by Hill Engineering in partnership with Fatigue Technology and NLign Analytics.

Comprehensive

IMx+ improves upon existing aircraft structural integrity programs by integrating shop floor tools with automated data collection straight from the device; ensuring the complete capture of the digital thread data from maintenance actions being performed on the aircraft.

Customizable

The spatial components of the IMx+ utilize an iGPS system but can be customized to operate using a wide array of other spatial tracking tools, such as linear and rotational encoders, fiber optics, and other line-of-sight systems – or configured to perform without the need for spatial tracking at all!

User-Friendly

The IMx+ system assists the maintainer in identifying maintenance action locations by providing real-time positional feedback and automatically importing results into a user-defined database.
